You're invited to the Grand Opening Ceremony of the Betsy Adams and the City of Coral Gables Garden Club Park on Saturday, March 17 at 10 a.m.
Eventgoers are asked to park their vehicles at Granada Presbyterian Church, 950 University Drive (Bird Road Lot) and take the trolley to the park at either 9:30 a.m. or 9:50 a.m. to attend the ceremony since there's no designated parking at the new passive park.
Located at 4650 Alhambra Street, the park is named in honor of Betsy Adams, a civic leader and past president of the Garden Club who spearheaded several beautification projects such as the city entrances, the George Merrick statue in front of City Hall and the statue of Althea Merrick seated on a bench at the Merrick House.
The new park offers a playground area and playground equipment, sidewalks specialty paving, stone retaining walls, lights and landscaping. The event is free and open to the public.
